Summit Construction was the general contractor for the renovation and expansion of a Marc's grocery store in Massillon, Ohio. The project included an expansion of the existing store into an adjoining space, adding approximately 27,000SF, with a new pharmacy, shopping space, and new main entrance. Along with the expansion, Summit performed an addition to the building of approximately 1,000 SF to add in a deli.
Summit Construction provided the owner and tenant with a safe access to the Marc’s store for customers, while still performing construction duties. During construction Summit assisted with verification to existing structural details, assistance in solving unforeseen conditions, scheduling, bid document preparation, subcontractor management, and price negotiation.
The additional shopping space gave shoppers more room to travel through the store while also allowing the store more room to show their products. This increased mobility to handicapped shoppers and ease to locate products.
