In 2022, Summit took on its first ground-up service project, providing CMR services at a discount for the Lower Lights Child Enrichment Center in Columbus. As a long-time mentor and partner of Lower Lights, Andy Rogers, Columbus Director of Operations, is overseeing the project.

"Lower Lights has seen firsthand the injustices in our country's childcare industry. We have long envisioned an effective response that would help the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community and their families. The Child Enrichment Center is that response to the biggest expansion in our 30-year history! As we stepped into our 4th decade with a passion for injustice, God opened doors for this incredible vision to become a reality; all we could do was say 'yes' and walk through it." (lowerlights.org)

Andy's involvement in Lower Lights has led to the Summit team's contributions to many of the non-profit's projects. Over the past several years, Summit has renovated a new hair salon facility for the women's recovery program, provided new windows for one family to house another in their program, provided fencing in their play area, and now finishing up construction for the ground-up Child Enrichment Center to give at-risk children a safe place to go before and after school.

"In line with Summit's mission, we believe it is our duty to continue to give back to disadvantaged communities and give the children in those areas the best possible chance to be successful." Says Andy.

As we head into the new year, the building will soon be ready to accept children into daycare. The building features several classrooms, a multi-purpose room, kitchen, offices and several bathrooms inside and outside of the classrooms.
