A culture that welcomes each individual
Summit Construction celebrates all people – regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, race or sexual orientation. Our team grows diversely each year. We believe our differences make us a stronger team, and we welcome all individuals with kindness and acceptance.
Positive impact is our company mission
Summit Construction’s mission is "to provide an excellent construction experience while making a positive impact on communities." Diversity and inclusion are driving forces in how we accomplish this impact. We purposefully seek out and work with diverse, minority organizations through professional mentorships and our community impact programs.
- College Now Greater Cleveland
- ACE (Akron-Canton Mentors)
- Akron Urban League's Minority Contractor Capital Access Program
- Community outreach and career education through our Student Learning Program and Summit Gives Back.
During our projects, community impact efforts begin in the preconstruction phase as the estimating department and the project management lead thoroughly vet the subcontracting process keeping MBE, FBE, and SBE enterprises of important note. The team identifies local opportunities for community service and events which will benefit local groups and organizations.
We prioritize minority participation
Summit Construction has a successful track record of partnering with MBE, FBE, SBE and EDGE enterprises. Our team has achieved at least a 15% MBE, FBE, SBE diversity percentage for projects through these partnerships when appropriate, beneficial to the client project, and meaningful for enterprise engagement. When the partnership does not create meaningful participation opportunities, our team has achieved these goals through minority-owned subcontractor participation.
