Cleveland, Ohio

A notable step forward has commenced for Urban Community School students, families and those in the surrounding community.  Construction for the MetroHealth Center has begun on campus at Urban Community School.

The new health center will stand adjacent to Urban Squash Cleveland, the squash court facility completed last fall.  On the opposite side of the building and street is Urban Community School, where students can attend primary through middle school.

Founded by the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, UCS is a Catholic tradition school enrolling children from low income families at or below the poverty level.  The MetroHealth and UCS partnership will create greater access to healthcare and health programs for UCS students in close proximity to their school and weekday activities.

“Initially, services will include primary care, pediatrics, behavioral health, a Hispanic Culture Health Clinic and a new service, MetroExpressCare, offering non-emergency room treatment for urgent health issues." - MetroHealth and Urban Community School to partner, July 30, 2018 - metrohealth.org

Summit Construction is honored to carry forward our working relationship with Urban Community School and to take part in creating a safe and accessible physical and mental health prioritized environment for the children and families in this community.

Progress update

Last week, the Stormtech 3500 system was installed.  The Stormtech system keeps the majority of the stormwater onsite, and only discharges to the city system when the storage tanks reach a certain capacity.  This reduces the amount of water to go to the treatment facility.  The remaining water in the yellow/orange chambers dissipates into the ground.  This type of system is used often on smaller and existing lots where a traditional retention or detention pond cannot be utilized.
