On Thursday, September 24, Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking for its new 228,000 square-foot building and the unveiling of its new name. The anticipated opening of Clark County Career Center in 2028 will usher in a new chapter in career and technical education, expanding opportunities for future generations of students throughout Clark County.
Summit Construction was selected as the project's CMR in 2025, partnering with Schorr Architects Inc.

The $98.2 million project includes a new, north-facing facility spanning 228,000 square feet, located immediately south of the existing administration building. The state-of-the-art facility will bring premier learning spaces and amenities to students and offer 26 career-technical education (CTE) programs to choose from.

With the new facility comes a refreshed identity that reflects the center's vision for the future. As reported by the Springfield News-Sun, the new logo features "... a compass chosen because it doesn't dictate your exact destination, but helps guide your path." The updated blue and orange color palette further reinforces this vision. Sophomore Dawson Leonard explained that " 'Both of these colors symbolize where this district is going and what career technical education means today. Blue represents trust, stability and professionalism ... Orange represents energy, creativity and optimism ... Together, blue and orange represents both who we are and who are we becoming: Students who are prepared, confident, creative, and ready for the future.' "

Summit Construction is proud to bring this impactful project to life for Clark County Career Center and the OFCC.
