Summit Construction provided CMR services for Akron Children's Hospital's Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit interior buildout. The project included a 47,000 SF interior buildout on the fifth floor of the Kay Jewelers Pavilion. The new space includes common areas, sensory rooms, art and gross-motor therapy spaces, classrooms, and private patient rooms with full bathrooms. The outdoor courtyard will feature rubber playground tile, turf, and benches.
The Summit team managed the daily construction activity, budget, and schedule throughout the project while coordinating the installation of a complete new framing package, anti-barricade door systems, flooring and finishes, and updated patient and staff areas.
Working closely with Akron Children's Hospital and Cannon Design, Summit Construction delivered an essential, functional space focused on patient care, safety, and well-being.
