Summit Construction was selected to provide construction manager at risk services for the Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics and Rehabilitative Services renovation in Stow. The 5,700 sf multi-phase project enhanced the existing space and accommodations for patients and staff.
The project included demolition, masonry, carpentry, glass, doors and hardware, flooring, painting, plumbing, hvac, electrical, and controls. As a result, the facility has a new exam room, treatment, charting, and assessment rooms, a lab, staff lounge and restrooms.
SCC provided constant communication, project management, safety and security on an occupied site, and value engineering that met the owner’s budget. The project team worked closely with the engineer, architect and owner to ensure both phases were complete before the hospital’s opening dates.
