Summit Construction was awarded this large project to develop a small parcel transfer point for overnight package services for Roadrunner Transportation Systems. The 100,000sf pre-engineered metal building included a 6,000 sf office area and 35 truck docking points. The site preparation required development of the 8-acre site into the trailer transfer point value of $6M. SCC acted as the Construction Manager at Risk providing coordination with metal building installation and site preparation. The work included installing high quality concrete warehouse floor, heating and ventilation, fire protection systems and electrical services.
The Team completed construction with nine months and subsurface soils improvements. The coordination with Nucor building systems to install pre-engineered foundation reinforcement with building anchors was crucial to ensure a smooth delivery for the final project result.
