Located in downtown Akron, Summit Artspace is a vibrant hub for creativity, housing artist studios, creative businesses, and five galleries that present new exhibitions four times a year. The organization offers public programs that connect the community with local artists and strengthen a diverse and thriving arts and culture scene.
Summit Construction served as the construction management partner for the 15,000 sq ft renovation, which focused on multiple areas throughout the building like the galleries, storefront, and event space. The project created more open and visually appealing rooms and entryways, further enhancing the artistic experience. Some changes included removing walls and doors, touching up paint, and altering stair railings.
The project also included essential behind-the-scenes updates - such as HVAC work and other improvements that will enhance comfort for both resident artists and visitors.
